Yokohama tires review: ADVAN Neova AD08
Yokohama Tires Company has added new tire ADVAN Neova AD08 to the ADVAN line. The new sporty tire was first represented at the auto-show SEMA. It will come to the market in middle of the second year. The tire has 39 sizes and the company assures that all of them will be available.
The new tire is a so called modification of the six years old ADVAN Neova AD07. The tire works on the road perfectly, make turns on the high speeds on the dry surface and has also all characteristics balance: control, steadiness, wet surface adhesion, wear resistane and wear evenness.
The new Yokohama tires composition is developed according to the advanced MS Compound technology that was also used in Neova AD07 development. The “MS Compound 2″ was added with a substance that is used in WTCC now. It resulted in new physical features: softness on the micro level and rigidity on the macro one. The composition contacts with the smallest road surface elements increasing the contact spot and therefore improving the adhesion on the micro level. The composition resists the deformation from heating and wear, providing great adhesion on the macro level.
Yokohama ADVAN Neova AD08 features:
• Persistent rounded grooves
Persistent rounded grooves increase durability. The power form the road surface exposure scatter. The grooves location affects effective water pipe bend on the wet surface.
• Monoblock arm zone
The arm blocks use improves the protector rigidity and guarantees good adhesion reducing circle time.
• Grooves in grooves
micro grooves on the walls of the basic grooves weaken the pressure to the block sides and therefore make the resistance to the uneven wear by increasing the steadiness at extreme conditions.

Continental Tires: ContiWinterContact TS 830
Continental ContiWinterContact TS 830 are the new tires that provide short braking distance on the any winter road. These continental tires were developed especially for cars equipped with electronic safety systems that guarantee the highest safety level even on the wet, snow or ice-covered road.
Continental ContiWinterContact TS 830 is claimed to force out ContiWinterContact TS 810. According to the examinations results ContiWinterContact TS 830 has excelled ContiWinterContact TS 810 on 4%.
Among the structure changes of the new tire is the modified design of the sidewall and new polymeric composition of the protector. While the tire creation a great accent was given to braking characteristics and moving renewal in the typical winter conditions and on the wet roads. ContiWinterContact TS 830 has a directional picture of the protector that is divided into central and shoulder zones. The central one provides adhesion on the ice while the shoulder one does the braking on the snow. There are almost 100 huge blocks on the central zone that contain numerous solder pads that improve adhesion feature of the tire on the ice. Shoulder zone consists of smaller blocks and solder pads for the snow steadiness improvement.
ContiWinterContact TS 830 tire contact patch is bigger than that of the previous model that guarantees enhanced road contact. Due to the sections the tire provides perfect adhesion both on the snow and the ice.
Solder pads provide the tire with flexibility and rigidity on the turns at the same time. It makes the wheel more sensitive to the human commands. That can safe the life of many car owners.
Continental tires special technology «H.A.F.T.» (Hydrophilic Adhesion Fluid Technology) improves the contact among the rubber and slim layer of water on the road surface. ContiWinterContact TS 830 structure provides steadiness in the wet surface, snow and ice but reduces the rolling resistance.

Why Should You Buy Winter Tires?
With winter starts everyone should change car’s “shoes”. But does everybody know what are the advantages of such kind of tires as against summer ones? Is it so necessary? Buying new tires always presupposes superfluous spending of money, doesn’t it?
There are two types of winter tires: studded tire and non-studded tire (studded tire is restricted in some countries).

Studded tire has special construction of tread that make fastening of tire stud more solid and robust.
- Conical diagonal tread pattern grooves prevent from snow pickup to the tire.
- Each winter tire has wider tread that’s why coupling properties take a turn for the better. And as a result steer ability is improved.
- Besides winter tires have double cord carcass made from special fiber.
While exploitation all these peculiarities assist to better collapse of water film, absorb and accumulate residual water particles. In the issue we have unsurpassed coupling on wet ice.
Do remember that the choice of snow tire should be substantial and should be done before the first light frosts and snow. It’s recommended to swap summer tires for winter ones when the temperature is seven degrees above zero.
Any tire is a compromise. It doesn’t make sence that the tire behaves it equally on the race circuit or in deep snow.
Only winter tires are intended to cope with low temperature, snow and ice.
