New Bridgestone Tires For F1
Bridgestone, Japanese tire company, which is a tire supplier for Formula 1, has announced that with the Grand Prix of Monaco, it will present a new intermediate rain tire for the little rain. They are made from a mixture of soft rubber to improve traction on the wet asphalt. In the first racing season F-1 racers complained that the cars with intermediate tires keep track poorly during the rain.

“Our intermediate tires from the new mixture will debute at the Grand Prix of Monaco, and we will use it more by the end of the season - said Hirohide Hamasima, director of Bridgestone sports department. - This is a soft mixture and it will improve the mechanical grip with the road. But current F-1 cars provide less clamping force, so piloting during the rain will still be more difficult for the racers than before.”
The company has also announced that Bridgestone is going to bring tires for dry weather in the following five phases of the World Cup.
Spain: soft and hard
Monaco: super-soft and soft
Turkey: soft and hard
UK: soft and hard
Germany: super-soft, intermediate
New Tire Recyling Methods
We talked many times about ecology and this topic is a challenge in the XXI-st century. So every time we have to invent new methods how to use things without recycling and polluting the environment.

For example, tires from motor vehicles are a very big problem, since they’ve been invented (imagine: only in the United States nearly 200 million passenger car tires sold per year - millions of Bridgestone, Continental, Sumitomo tires…). When they are all brand-new, everything is excellent. They do not too much harm to the environment. But what to do with old, used, and already spoiled ones? They are being thrown or burnt in landfills, but the smoke from the burning, of course, is terrible. It is not just an awful smell, but also a throw of harmful toxic substances into the atmosphere. But you can solve this problem, if you wish. And a very unusual way to do so the designer Carl Menary offers. His concept of «Re-Tyre» is a step in the right direction in the fight for clean air and free from environmental toxins. Designer makes the chairs from the tires! They look unusual, strange, but it is not the main thing.
I think when we go to the park or a pond, we do not care where to sit, except not on the asphalt. And in the absence of benches, you can use these new «chairs». No one proposes to furnish a bedroom or living room, but in the courtyard of your house – why not?
Continetal Workers Protest Against Factory Closure
Hundreds of workers made fire from the Continental tires - samples of their products - before the old Paris stock exchange on Monday to protest against plans for the closure of the French company’s plant.

Employees of Continental held several protests after the German manufacturer of tires announced in March plans for closing the plant, which employs 1,120 people.
«Market - a symbol of world crisis. They speculate with workers’ fates, and here is the result. They did bets, they have lost. This is a crisis, but we will not pay for them », - said the representative of the trade union CGT Xavier Mathieu to the journalists.
The historic building of a stock exchange in France is no longer used as a marketplace. In previous protests, Continental workers stormed the office of the company, as well as the governmental buildings, breaking windows, computers and furniture.

Protests by workers against layoffs in France are becoming increasingly radical in the past three months. Several times the staff closed representatives of companies in offices or factories, not allowing them to leave the premises.
Bridgestone Potenza RE050A
The company Bridgestone, second season tire supplier for Formula 1, uses the experience of participating in the race to create new high-tech tires.
One of the results of development of the company based on the lessons learned are tires Bridgestone Potenza RE050A. This asymmetric tires, providing an excellent balance on wet and dry road surface, based on F1 Racing tires adapted for conventional road. The external area of the Potenza RE050A tread improves control on a dry road surface, including when turning at high speed. The inner region of the tread increases the grip on a wet road and allows you to effectively remove water from the contact spot.
According to Bridgestone, the use of techniques of racing tires means that the Potenza RE050A provides 60% of F1 grip, while the majority of conventional tires provides approximately 35% grip compared with the tires for the race.
Potenza RE050 tires are supplied as the primary set for the Alfa Romeo 156, 159 and Brera, Aston Martin DB9, Porsche 911 and Maserati Gran Turismo, BWW 1, 3, 5 and 6 series, Z4 iMini, Ferrari 612 Scaglietti and 599 GTB Fiorano, Audi A4, A5 and TT.
