Pirelli Cinturato – “Green Heart” And “Soul” Of The Frankfurt Motor Show

Pirelli Cinturato – “Green Heart” And “Soul” Of The Frankfurt Motor ShowThe Pirelli company promotes ecological and driving performance of its products at the Frankfurt Motor Show demonstrating it together with the leading car producers and engineers.

The company also notes that the testing conducted by the independent organizations Dekra and TÜV “proves the company’s success thanks to its commitment to the development of eco-friendly products, decrease of negative influence on the environment, decrease of fuel consumption and, simultaneously, improvement of the driving performance and safety level.”

In its official press release that coincided with the holding of the Frankfurt Motor Show the Pirelli company announced that according to the results of the independent testing Cinturato P7 tire is the best ecological tire in its segment thanks to the lower fuel consumption level and, correspondingly, lower amount of CO2 exhaust into the atmosphere, increase of the potential mileage and safety level especially on wet surface.

Thanks to P7 tire the rolling resistance of the vehicle is reduced by 20%, amount of the consumed energy – by 4%. Besides this the tire ensures 30% decrease of the noise level, shortening of the braking distance by 2 yards on dry and wet surface and absence of harmful aromatic oils in the rubber compound. P7 has been chosen for the original equipment of Audi (A4, A4 Allroad, A5), Mercedes (S and E class), BMW (X1, Series 3, Series 5) and Volvo (S80, V70) the majority of which were presented at the Frankfurt Motor Show.

Pirelli also presented a collection of PZero tires that belong to the ultra-high performance segment and were designed exclusively for the prestigious cars exhibited at the Frankfurt Motor Show – Ferrari 458 Italia, McLaren MP4 12 C, Maserati Quattroporte and Granturismo.

IceNavi-Zea - New Tire By Goodyear

IceNavi-Zea - New Tire By GoodyearThe Goodyear company presents a new UltraGrip IceNavi-Zea tire that is intended for driving in the most severe winter conditions.

IceNavi-Zea guarantees exceptional traction on snow, ice and dry surface. The tire is manufactured with the use of Zea Hybrid technologies that are combined to improve performance on ice-covered surface.

• The silicone-based rubber compound effectively disperses water film thus ensuring superb traction.
• New BioTread is manufactured with the use of biological filler that makes the tire more elastic and adaptive to different kinds of road surface. The use of biological filler allowed to improve the steering stability to a great extent.
• IceNavi-Zea is produced with the use of the state-of-the-art MicroFibre technology that ensures perfect traction on ice thanks to the addition of glass fiber particles to the rubber compound. More than 300.000.000 particles in each tire “pierce” the ice thus ensuring high level of traction.
• New tread pattern with sharp edges, grooves and zigzag-shaped blocks provides outstanding braking performance both on snow and ice. Such features as steering stability and mileage were also improved.

IceNavi-Zea - New Tire By GoodyearDuring the testing of braking performance on ice that was conducted by the Goodyear company with the use of the vehicle without ABS system at the initial speed of 10mph the braking distance of the tire appeared to be 2,5 yards shorter than that of the previous IceNavi-NH model. Similar tests on snow demonstrated the shortening of braking distance from 8 to 7,5 yards. Besides this the tire ensures excellent level of comfort and noiselessness.

The representative of the Goodyear company put a comment regarding the new tire: “IceNavi Zea is a tire that is created for comfort and safe driving in winter conditions. It suits perfectly for dry surface and mountain roads. BioTread technology enables superb braking and cornering stability that are very important in winter conditions. Besides this all the new tires of our company are manufactured without the use high-aromatic oils that negatively affect the environment.”

Yokohama Develops New Material For The Inner Coating Of Its Eco-Tires

Yokohama Develops New Material For The Inner Coating Of Its Eco-Tires New Airtex Advanced Liner technology allows to prevent the loss of pressure in the tire and reduce its fuel consumption level.

Airtex is a new material that is attached to the inner side of the tire to prevent the loss of pressure. This original technology includes addition of special rubber to the rubber compound of conventional inner coatings. The Yokohama company has already patented the new technology. The material is air-proof and elastic at the same time what allows to reduce the natural loss of air to a great extent. Besides this the material is five times as light as the conventional coating what reduces the weight of the tire and, as the result, the fuel consumption level. The tires that are manufactured with the application of this technology are already sold in Japan, North America and some European countries. The company plans to manufacture more models with the use of Airtex technology in the future.

Within 10 years Yokohama has been producing tires that reduce the consumption of fuel but insufficient level of pressure restrain the useful properties of the tires and makes the riding less safe. That’s why the company conducted a lot of research aimed at the creation of the material that could prevent the loss of pressure. The Airtex has become the material and now the “Airtex of new generation” is being developed. In the future it will eliminate the loss of pressure.

The intensification of these developments was connected with the company’s aspiration to contribute to the struggle against global warming. According to the report of JATMA (Japan Automobile Manufacturers Association) the stable level of pressure in the tires is one of the factors that is ignored by the majority of drivers. The Yokohama company feels obligated to inform the drivers about the importance of maintenance of stable pressure level in the tires.
