4 Common Winter Mistakes

The first and most obvious of them is riding in the winter on summer tires. On the road, covered with snow or ice, the stopping distance on old summer rubber increases in one and a half times. That is why every year during the first days of winter, when the drivers have not yet replaced the tires, the number of accidents increases almost in 6 times.
The second error, which car drivers do commit is when they put the car on a hand brake for the night. After that they should be prepared in the morning, that the car simply will not move from its place. The point is that while the vehicle was in motion, it got warm, and snow fell on the body and then began to melt, and during the frosty night wet pads, covered by an icy crust do freeze. It is better to keep the car on the the first or rear gear.
When drivers follow trucks and buses in winter, they also make a mistake. Such heavy-duty vehicles’ wheels grip on the road is better than the cars’, and if on the snow-covered road car loses grip on time with it, it will immediately be thrown in front of a truck.
And the last, the fourth error drivers make when they wash their cars in frost. This immediately raises two problems: from the temperature, microcracks arise at the paintwork, which then begin to burst and also in minus temperatures wet locks for the doors do not have enough time to dry and eventually freeze. If you need to wash the car it is recommended to treat door gaskets with silicone lubricants, and body - with wax.
So, we have mentioned the most common troubles that do arise in winter. It is up to you whether to follow our advices, but remember – following them can not only increase your car’s life, but also save yours.
