Studded Or Friction Tires?
How to choose – studded or friction tires, depends on the conditions under which you will operate the vehicle and the personal preferences of the owner of the car.
Both of the tire types are resistant to wear and have high technical characteristics. But knowing their distinctive features, it will be easier for you to choose exactly the type of tire that suits your needs.
Studded tires:

1.Mostly preferable for driving on icy roads. Especially good for suburban roads, or if you live near the coast, where roads are often covered with ice or snow.
2.It is easy to maneuver in the ice-yards on the studded tires, especially with small rises, or if you have an automatic transmission installed.
3.Studded tires are preferable for novices who have not dealt with the quality and other distinctive characteristics of the road surface due to lack of necessary experience.
Friction Tires:

1. Friction tire shows themselves better on the snow-covered roads and the asphalt surface with an ice crust and packed snow.
2.You should be careful at intersections and in similar places, where the roadbed is covered with a thin layer of ice or snow. In these circumstances studded tires are more preferable.
3.If you need tires that are less noisy, then choose the friction tires, they are less noisy. But most importantly, do not forget about safety!
4. Friction tires can be installed before the fall (and be removed later in spring) on the car, thus reducing the chance of falling into the snow or frost on the summer tires.
5.Do not use the friction of tire as multigrade. These tires are soft and quickly erased at high temperatures, not to mention the fact that they are keeping the road much worse than a good summer tires at high speeds in a dry and hot weather.
Attention! When you install any winter (especially new) tires the car will be driven worse on a dry road than the summer tires. And the winter tires are more noisy, due to the fact that they have a much larger tread than summer tires.
Therefore, caution, speed and distance! These tires are not designed for a very aggressive driving, but they secure you in a difficult winter road.
Driving In The Rain Is Dangerous
Therefore, driving technique in dry weather and rainy weather has two big differences. Anyone, even the most experienced driver, should bear in mind some very simple rules of driving in the rain. It is better to brake on a road smoothly. In addition, smooth braking will allow the cars, going behind you, to prepare to maneuver. Avoid sudden movements when driving, especially at high speeds, because on slippery roads this may cause the car to twist, and it will become undriveable.

It is not recommended to enjoy cruise control in such weather as in many cars cruise control is designed for dry weather.
To feel confident in what way, you can pre-arrange purchasing tires for your vehicle which are called “rain tires.”
Be especially careful if your tires worn out badly. Indeed, much worn tires are more prone to aquaplaning effect. Driving at the speed over the puddle the car can easily lose control because small depth of the tread can not remove water from the contact spot of the tire and, consequently, is unable to provide proper tire grip.
And if you still in a situation where the car is being twisted, then try not to panic, do not convulsively twist your wheel and do not press on the brake sharply.
Puddles can still be dangerous because below them open hatches, boulders, and other troubles could be revealed.

Do not travel in the rain, if your windscreen wipers or headlights are out of order, because in this weather they should always be on.
The main rule when driving in the rain - be careful! If the rain is so heavy that you lose the sight of the car, which goes before you, it is better to stop and wait in such a situation.
Yokohama Orange Oil Tires
New Yokohama dB Super E-spec tire - the world’s first tire made on the basis of orange oil, 80% devoid of oil products. Besides oil, the raw material for tires is a natural rubber. Developers of the “orange” tires are told that they contribute to saving fuel by reducing rolling resistance by 20%.

The same technology is used in the manufacturing of racing tires Advan ENV-R1TM, designed for cars for Porsche GT3 Cup.
“Orange” tires are designed for such vehicles as the Toyota Prius, Honda Civic, Toyota Camry, Honda Accord, Nissan Versa and the VW Golf.
Range of products manufactured by the Yokohama company today is quite extensive. This includes tires for passenger cars, SUVs, trucks and buses, for conveyor belts, components for aircrafts and shipbuilding, hoses and other stuff.
Despite the global scope of its activities, the Yokohama company cares about each client and offers a service based on the highest standards of quality.
Currently, Yokohama creating transnational distribution network for its tire lines through subsidiaries: Yokohama Tire Corporation (USA), Yokohama Tire Inc. (Canada), Yokohama Tyre Australia Pty. To meet the increasing demand for its products the company is constantly increasing its production capacity in the first place in the United States, Taiwan, Thailand and China. In parallel, sales network is continually expanding through the existing foreign affiliates.
Can You Trust Tire Tests?
Car owners often face that question when buying new tires. How far test results connect with reality? And if it is possible to evaluate the characteristics of the tire without any special expensive equipment and this test site? We will try to answer these questions.

To begin with, we admit, that the tests are being carried out mainly by big car magazines, wishing to attract as many readers as it is possible. But the main purpose of those publications is to earn money through sales of products (magazines, newspapers) and advertisement.
Naturally a magazine can benefit from killing two birds with one shot immediately - to sell their printed products and to receive extra money from a certain company for the promotion of some kind of a product that later gets the top place in an ‘independent‘ rating. In this case tire rating will hardly be objective. Well, it is business and everyone wants to survive in this difficult competition.
And in general, are sellers capable of conducting a quality tire test?
To identify the advantages and disadvantages of a tire (any type or make: Michelin tires, Bridgestone tires, Goodyear tires…), you need not a day or two, but numerous tests and tests in different conditions, but if we compare a few models? And if it is possible to take into account changing weather conditions, the asphalt temperature, humidity, which vary even within a single day with one-, two-day test by testing five different models of tires?
Add to that the tests are being conducted with the participation of journalists, some racers with their personal preferences to the choice of rubber because of their individual driving style. But this is a very important factor, since many of the leading racers prefer different manufacturers and different models of tires for the same route. Perhaps that is why the same tires at the same times show completely opposite characteristics in braking, accelerating, cornering etc.

There is another important factor that is not included in the testing of tires in that way – tire wear. Moreover, the behavior of the tire, ie, its characteristics are usually highly dependent on its degree of wear. You can make a very soft rubber and tires will show a fairly good performance, but their durability will be very low.
Generally, all the characteristics of tires, laid down by the manufacturer reveal only after its using for about 200 km, depending on the pavement.
Of course for that, the publishers don’t have neither the time nor extra money.
