BFGoodrich - g-Force Stud
Michelin introduced a new spiked winter tire from BFGoodrich - g-Force Stud. The time for new items is extremely successful: last year BF Goodrich tires won all 16 stages of the world rally championship, accordingly, and the champion title came to this brand. When working on a g-Force Stud attention was focused on starting the vehicle, braking and stability - those parameters, which in sociological studies are mostly appreciated in the winter tires by drivers.

The nature of g-Force Stud is easy to be read on the tread. Four line spikes in the outer and inner shoulders to ensure that depending on the size of a tire at the same time 6 or 8 spikes are cutting into it. Wide grooves, which cover 35% of the contact spot, effectively push the snow in the starting field. Flexible bidirectional lamellas not only help the spikes, cutting in snow and ice with their edges, but also push the snow from the shoulder area. As usual, the configuration lamellas ensure their blocking into rigid blocks, with an increase in burden. Large shoulder blocks are increasing car’s passability in snow. Arc channels are expanding from the middle of the tread to its edges.
Exchange rate stability and control are guaranteed by tread pattern design and longitudinal central channel. It has more than 400 sharp edges, which provide additional (with thorns), adhesion to the road, and does this by removing broken by lamellas snow and water film from the contact spot. Side arc channels are expanding to shoulder with 5 to 7 mm and covering 95% of the width of the contact spot, removing water and snow. When braking both thorns and multiple edges are working. Spikes with a larger head stands at 1 / 6 of its height making it extremely durable.
Michelin X-Ice tires - Review on Winter Tires
As the major manufacturers use to do, they launched a new generation of Michelin X-Ice tires after four years from the first generation. The tire is designed for the regions where roads most of the winter are covered with snow and ice - Scandinavia, Japan, Canada and Russia.

Major advantages of the new friction winter tires - a unique blend of rubber Flex-Ice, adapted to changes in ambient temperature and an innovative tread pattern to divert water from the surface of ice. However, this is not the full list of innovations.
To ensure optimum adhesion of tire, contact patch should be as broad as possible, and the pressure should be distributed as evenly as possible over. Combining several technologies, Michelin engineers have increased contact spot area of Michelin X-Ice II by 13% in comparison to the predecessor. Positive (rubber, in contact with the road) increased from 60 to 73%. Moreover, changes, introduced in the pattern will even reduce the risk of aquaplaning.
Lamellas along the edges of each tread block were replaced by micropumps - blank holes, capable to pump water from the contact spot during the compression of rubber. Skaters know: ice is not slippery, water is sliding, appearing on the ice under the pressure of the skate blades. Micropumps pump water under the spines. Lamellas in the center of blocks, bending, cling like spikes on the smallest irregularities on any road surface. But the greatest impact is felt on the ice, especially when melting - the slippery surface.
X-Ice II has sent a symmetrical V-shaped tread pattern effectively removing water and snow porridge. Using the silika in the composition of the mixture makes the tire more rigid at high and elastic at low temperatures, increases the term of its service and provides a high quality grip, especially on a wet road.
Sidewall lamellas have undulating profile in two planes, which guarantees their cohesion under load. Tread blocks become tougher, which achieved excellent handling and exchange rate stability. And stops between the blocks make tread hard. Contact spot becomes more stable, the pressure in it is distributed more evenly. Accordingly, the tread wears evenly, which increases the service life of the tire.
Manufacturer positioned X-Ice II as a winter car tire friction representative / sports class, mostly operating on ice-and snow-covered roads. Speed index - T (190 km / h). There are 36 standard sizes from 175/70R13 82T to 245/45R18 100T XL.
Michelin Tires: Pilot Alpin PA2
Michelin Tires is a well-known tire company the products of which are very expensive. But the high cost of the Michelin tires can be explained by the 100% product quality. The Michelin products are really very valuable. Just imagine the first world car used Michelin tires. It is a real quality indicator. The tire company uses the most modern and advanced technologies to keep the customers safe and satisfied.
Michelin Tires Alpin A2 is a good choice for city conditions driving. Pilot Alpin PA2 is a new winter non-stud tire by Michelin. It is intended to the driving on wet, cold snowy or ice surfaces. It is called M&S (mud and snow) tire and is usually used in wet winter conditions when thaws permanently alternates with frosts. The solder pads effect strengthening , the optimized hook formula, new rubber compounding for the better low temperatures cohesion – all these features define the new tire. Michelin Pilot Alpin PA2 tire now has a higher inflation pressure in the contact spot zone for better permission vehicle’s load carry and effective water pellicle destruction. The firmer solder pad is intended to the better rotational movement. The protector firm formula is used for perfect speed rating and braking optimization. The improved directional stability brings the driving accuracy while the firm casing makes it safe even driving at high speed.
The reviews of the Michelin tires are full of the positive comments on Pilot Alpin PA2 tire. People agree that the car goes mildly due to its sidewall soft feature. Many note its noiseless feature due to its non-stud characteristic. The motorists tell that due to the new Michelin Tire their car reaction is predictable. One can always have time to brake if keeping the distance while driving on the ice surface.
