Does Pirelli Play up to Ferrari at Formula 1?

The relations of Ferrari and tire-makers have always been hot for the crew wanted to establish close ties with any of them, either it is Goodyear in 1998 or Bridgestone at the beginning of the first decade of the new millennium. Every time it used to bring them profit, which is especially true about the collaboration with Bridgestone.
However, they can’t do the same with Pirelli as Formula 1 has changed a lot. Last year stiff tires from the Italian tire maker became the real headache for Ferrari engineers. From time to time the journalists ask Marco Troncetti, Pirelli director, if he is going to give a helping hand to their fellow countrymen. Still, he answers that the company works in agreement with all crews and pilots.
At the same time, Troncetti admits that he would be glad to celebrate Ferrari’s success, which is quite natural since every Italian person wants Ferrari to win while all the British dream about McLaren’s victory. Such feelings come from the bottom of the heart. That’s why he denies that the company plays up to the Italian crew.
Marco Troncetti also said that he wasn’t against Formula 1 “tire wars.” It doesn’t matter for them whether they would be the only supplier or would collaborate with other tire makers in this field. Since Formula 1 decides that the vehicles should be equipped with the same tires – let it be.
