Bridgestone Tires

Bridgestone Tires history started in 1931. It was the year when Shojiro Ishibashi opened its own small tire business.

In 1964 the company approved the project of the production quality improvement that included the production quality control too. This plan was realized finelly and so Bridgestone Company won the prestigious Deming Awards in 1968. This prize is given for the enterprises that have achieved much success in the high quality production manufacturing. In 1988 Bridgestone assigned the task to manufacture the products without any defects. Thus the “zero of defects” conception appeared promoting the manufacturing of the ideal quality goods.

In 1984 the company developed the “Rolling Contour Optimization Theory” that should have optimized the on-the-run tire shape. That tire is a Bridgestone boast up till now. That project cost 2 million dollars but the Bridgestone production got a huge range of competitor advantages: the optimal shape casing use provides better flexibility and directional stability, good wet and dry surface braking, longer treadware, low noise level and fuel economy.

In the February of the 2004 the millionth tire was produced. Ferrari and Maserati Companies chose Bridgestone Run-flat tire for their cars equipment. That year Bridgestone also opened the subsidiary Bridgestone Retread Systems Company that still cooperates with Maragoni Tread Company specialists. In June the official opening of The European Bridgestone Proof Ground took place. It is located near Rome. Its area makes up144 hectares. The tires tests are carried out the whole year.

    Bridgestone Blizzak W965 Tire
Bridgestone Blizzak W965 is a non-studded winter tire designed for commercial use on four-wheel drive vehicles like light trucks and vans. It provides for reliable operation of your vehicle under various wintertime conditions, either on snow or on ice. The tire tread picture is comprised of tread blocks divided by voids to enhance snow traction and to ensure tread self-cleaning from snow while moving. There’s also a thick network of zigzag-shapes sipes to further improve traction on snow- and ice-covered roads by providing for a great number of biting edges that cut into slippery surfaces. Bridgestone used its proprietary UNI-T technology (the combination of CTDM, O-Bead and L.L.Carbon) to improve the tire casing shape, the bead, and the tread. The casing was designed with the help with computer modeling technologies, the bead is made rounded while the tread is made is made from LL Carbon. The Blizzak W965 is made from the Multi-Cell rubber compound to remove moisture from under the contact patch area, which enhances grip on icy surfaces by absorbing water into a number of microscopic pores.
