Continental Tires

    Continental Company was founded in 1871. One of the most significant years in the company history was the year 1882 when the Continental emblem was created. It was the image of a reared-up horse that was initially a part of Saxony emblem. That image was taken because the capital of Saxony was Hanover, the city where the company was created.

    So, the Continental Company produces tires for motor cars and trucks, buses, off-road vehicles, motorcycles and even for bicycles. Every forth European car has Continental tires.     Continental HDR is an all-season tire designed for use on driving axles of trucks. The letters HDR in its title translate as Heavy-Duty Drive-Axle Regional, which describes the purpose of this tire and its features. The tire has excellent traction on various types of surfaces and a prolonged life span thanks to its improved tread design. The tire’s profile was also improved to ensure even load distribution over the contact patch area, which in its turn provides for even tread wear. The innovative tread picture worked out specially for drive-axle tires enhances the tire’s wet traction. The tire’s rubber compound is molded into asymmetrical tread pattern with wide circumferential grooves for pumping water out of the contact patch and thus minimizing hydroplaning. The tire’s construction is durable thanks to its steel casing and steel belts, which contributes to its retreadability as well as makes the tire puncture-resistant.
