    Goodyear Tire & Rubber Company was founded in 1898 when Frank Sayberling bought the first factory for the money borrowed from his brother. Rubber and cotton had to be transported from the Down Under and the shuttle service was limited. So Sayberling created the company and gave it the name of the brave researcher Charles Goodyear who discovered vulcanization. Sayberling also invented the distinctive company symbol – a winged sandal that still symbolically mediates the company with its past.

    Goodyear Ultra Grip Ice tire is a winter tire for passenger cars. The major advantage of the tire is its perfect traction in the most severe winter conditions. Ultra Grip Ice uses directional tread pattern with deep independent blocks and multiple sipes that effectively evacuate water and slush from the contact patch thus increasing hydroplaning resistance level and, as a result, traction on wet surface.
