Michelin Tires

The leading tire producing Michelin Company history started in 1830. It was then that the grandfather of Michelin brothers built a small factory in the Clermon-Ferran province. He created a removable tire for a passing-by bicyclist. In 1891 the bicycler who used Michelin air tires won bicycle marathon in a Paris-Bordo-Paris course. In 2 years 10 thousands of bicycle owners chose Michelin. That event was the beginning of the 170-year company history. Today Michelin Company has offices in 170 countries and the sales volume is 63 billion French francs.

First of all every car owner knows Michelin tires as an expensive buying. But this cost is 100% justified. Michelin tires were put in the first car. That’s not a surprise. The company was a universally recognized leader even in the past.

Michelin Tires was the first company who used metal cord technology that is applied practically in all casings. Many leading tire producers cooperate with this brand because it is Michelin that realizes the most modern and advanced technologies. A great example is Michelin Pax tire. It is assembled on the wheel with flat cylinder hoop. It has an inflation pressure sensor and an elastic spacer ring in case of leakage.

Being a tire giant Michelin has its research centers, rubber plantations and 80 factories all over the world. Thousands of Michelin tires appear daily and each is reliable and of high quality. Michelin is the most popular brand in the region of auto industry. Many car companies complete their products with the tires of that brand.

    Michelin Agilis Tire
Michelin Agilis tire is an all-season tire for light trucks. The tire has become more economical if to compare with the previous model Agilis 61/81. This is gained through the increased mileage (by 15-30%) and reduced fuel consumption level (2% on average). Agilis ensures short braking distance and high level of resistance to cuts and punctures. Michelin Agilis is the first tire for trucks that is manufactured with the use of DCP (Durable Contact Patch) technology. The DCP technology combines the carcass of truck tires with the rubber compound of passenger tires that results in the decrease of fuel consumption and increased treadwear resistance level.
