The tire has been developed exclusively for the participation in such endurance races like 24 Hours of Le Mans and 12 Hours of Sebring. Pilot Sport Cup is also used for the original equipment of such premium vehicles as BMW M3, Porsche Turbo and GT2. The tire uses a dual area rubber compound – the compound at the outer area ensures excellent dry traction while the compound at the inner area promotes wet traction. The asymmetric tread pattern uses a massive outer shoulder rib that provides superb steering response and excellent cornering stability.
