Bridgestone Blizzak WS70 Tire
|
Season: Winter Tires Car Type: passenger Description:
Bridgestone Blizzak WS70 is a new winter tire that succeeds the WS60 model and belongs to the company’s 2010-2011 line-up. This is an all-terrain tire designed for use with passenger cars and light SUVs and performs well on dry and wet surfaces as well as on snowy and icy roads.
The tire features directional tread pattern with large tread blocks and deep grooves between them, which on the one hand improves traction in the snow and in the slush while on the other hand ensures traction on wet roads covered with water film. The blocks’ biting edges effectively cut snow and ice while wide grooves provide for the tread self-cleaning. The directional tread picture helps quickly remove water from under the contact patch area, which prevents from hydroplaning.
The tire is made from Bridgestone proprietary “Multicell” rubber compound for better traction on snowy and icy surfaces. Such rubber compound in conjunction with tread blocks construction results in extra stiffness of the latter, which ensures safe maneuvering in winter time.
